It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.įor printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching.

Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.įor PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. Still, I just turned one of my characters into a mage recently, and then this class got announced shortly after. These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Could we get a version of the new class, that looks more like the old one? (I figured I'd ask, since skeleton customization is now a thing, so another aesthetic option might not be too unreasonable) The hooded robe just looked so much cooler, and more, well, Necromancer, to me, than a caped armor does. Look wise though, I highly prefer the old Necromancer class over the new one. It definitely has potential to be interesting, but I would prefer not having to dedicate item slots to anything other than the armor. I'm not quite sure what I think about the new Misc item aspect of the summons, though. I don't know if Necromancer will be the same for me in this respect, but Undead Mutant and Lich, were definitely the hightlights for me back then, so it will be interesting to see how they turn out (if Undead Mutant remains present, that is). Even with all the skills of Paladin, I stick to around 4 skills, and mostly forget the others exist. Skill wise, I feel I use about the same amount of skills per class as I used to back in the day.
Here's hoping that Necromancer will manage to capture those same feelings for me! Sometimes I reset Dragonslayer and Knight, just to replay them again (I haven't done that with Paladin yet, as I only recently got it to max level), which is quite the rarity for me, as I usually dread having to redo things I have already done. It felt amazing to play through the remade Dragonslayer, Knight and Paladin class quests. The remade class quests, however, I absolutely love and relate to, as they feel so personal and contained. Paladin most certainly did not disappoint.įor the most part, I care little about AQ's story developments over the past 10 years and I don't really play the quests much I mainly stick to random battles and old stand-alone quests from back in the day. It is going to be amazing to see how the Necromancer class will be handled. Paladin and Necromancer very much influenced how I played, back in the day.
